Coopers Oxford Pork is based in Dorchester on Thames and is the home of the Suntrap Herd of Pedigree Oxford Sandy and Black Pigs.

We are a closed herd which means we reduce the risk of disease.

We rear pigs for pork which we sell either privately or at local farmers markets, as well as rearing pigs for registration with the B.P.A (British Pig Association) for showing and breeding.

Our pigs are free range and spend the whole of their lives outdoors in traditional pig arks. Pregnant sows are moved into a purpose built farrowing shed about a week before the litter is due. There they have ample room to move around when inside as well as access to an outside pen.

We do not ring our pigs, this leaves them free to fulfil their instincts, which are to root and forage, while at the same time have access to shelter from the wind, rain and sun.

As well as their main feed, which does not contain growth promoters or chemical additives, they benefit from a supplement of fresh fruits and vegetables which we believe enhances the flavour of the meat.
